DAILY PRAYER (BY SPURGEON)

Oh God, our hearts are up to you. We want to feel that you are here. We cannot expect this if we ask such a great blessing in our own name, but we ask it through the merits of Jesus Christ. May the Lord give us his help. We are perfect weaklings. There is nothing else that we are perfect in. Lord, give us the perfect strength, for Jesus’ sake.

Amen.

VERSE OF THE DAY (COMMENTARY BY SPURGEON)

“He gives strength to the faint and strengthens the powerless.” (Isaiah 40:29)

God loves to pour out into empty vessels. He does not give his power to the strong, but to the faint. The more weak you are, the more room for his strength. Trust in him. If you are burdened that you cannot stand, lean on him. The more thou dost lean, the better will he love thee. He delights to help his people. “He gives power to the faint.”

PRAY FOR THE NATIONS (NEW FEATURE)

This week, we’re praying for the Grangali of Afghanistan.

The Grangali are devout Sunni Muslims. They live in constant fear of spiritual powers or demons, but believe that Allah is far away and can’t help them. There is no one who can tell them about the love and power of God.

Pray that they would hear the good news that Christ came to conquer Satan.
