Thanks for praying with us this week. We’ll be back on Monday.

DAILY PRAYER (BY SPURGEON)

Lord, you know us. Will you not look upon your children with that sweetly-searching eye of yours which will spy out our wants to fulfill them; our desires, to grant them; our sins, to pardon them; our weaknesses, to give us strength equal to our day? Father, we, being evil, speak to our fathers, and they give us, as their children, what we need. And now we speak to you; you are not evil and you will surely give us exceeding abundantly above what we ask or think. You will leave no one unsupplied, no grief without comfort. In fact, we feel perfectly happy when we feel perfectly in the presence of God. We have all we want when we come to you. I am incredibly rich when Christ is mine! To him be the glory forever and ever.

Amen.

VERSE OF THE DAY (COMMENTARY BY SPURGEON)

ā€œFor he has satisfied the thirsty and filled the hungry with good things.ā€ (Psalm 107:9)

The Lord gives us longings and then completely satisfies us. Our longings lead us into solitude, separation, thirst, faintness, and self-despair, and all these conduct us to prayer, faith, divine guidance, rest, and the satisfying of the soul’s thirst. The good hand of the Lord is to be seen in the whole process and in the divine result.

PRAY FOR THE NATIONS

This week, we’re praying for the Ampanang of Indonesia.

One day, ā€œAll the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the LORD. All the families of the nations will bow down before youā€ (Psalm 22:27). We look forward to the day that some of the Ampanang will acknowledge Jesus for the first time — we look forward to worshiping alongside of them forever!

Pray that the Ampanang would hear the gospel and believe it.
