DAILY PRAYER (BY SPURGEON)
It is because we are your own that we have hope. You will make us worthy of you. Your possession of us is our hope of perfection. You wash our feet because we are your own. Oh how sweet is the mercy which first took us to its heart and made us all its own and now continues to deal tenderly with us, so that, being Christ’s own, we may have that of Christ within us which all may see, and which proves us to be the Lord’s.
Amen.
VERSE OF THE DAY (COMMENTARY BY SPURGEON)
“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13)
We may be filled with joy and peace in believing, and may abound in hope. There is no reason why we should hang our heads and live in perpetual doubt. We may not only be somewhat comforted, but we may be full of joy; we may not only have occasional quiet, but we may dwell in peace, and delight ourselves in the abundance of it. These great privileges are attainable, or the apostle would not have made them the subjects of prayer.
PRAY FOR THE NATIONS
This week, we’re praying for the Dabarre of Somalia.
Somalia is a dangerous country full of terrorism, unrest, lack of access to healthcare facilities, frequent kidnappings, and even piracy. Missionaries will not be able to persevere in Somalia unless God empowers them.
Pray that God would help the missionaries he has sent to Somalia.
