DAILY PRAYER (BY SPURGEON)
Oh God, help us to live towards you in all devotion, confidence, obedience, resignation, and simple childlike trust. Help us to love you with all our heart and soul and mind. Enable us also to live towards others according to your word, loving our neighbor as ourselves. Save us from all unneighborly tempers, all hard thoughts, all slanderous words. Deliver us from bearing any anger in our heart; save us from everything that is ungenerous or unkind and let the law of love be written on the fleshy tablets of our renewed heart and be carried out in all the thoughts and words and acts of our lives. Especially help us to master our tongue; for if that be bridled the whole body will be manageable. Keep us, oh God, when we are in company, and equally preserve us when we are in secret.
Amen.
VERSE OF THE DAY (COMMENTARY BY SPURGEON)
“No temptation has come upon you except what is common to humanity. But God is faithful; he will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to bear it.” (1 Corinthians 10:13)
There is a proper way to escape from a temptation. There are many improper ways and woe to the person who makes use of any of them. But there is only one proper way out and that is the way God has made. The right way is always of God’s making and; therefore, any of us who are now exposed to temptation or trial are not to make our own way of escape out of it.
PRAY FOR THE NATIONS
This week, we’re praying for the Idaksahak in Mali.
The New Testament teaches that Christ being “preached among the nations” is a central part of our faith (1 Timothy 3:16), but Christ has never been preached in this nation.
Pray that the gospel would finally reach the Idaksahak for the first time.

LAST WORD FROM SPURGEON
