DAILY PRAYER (BY SPURGEON)
How little of our time do we spend in your service! How few are the words that we speak about you or for you. How little is the aroma of Christ upon our garments. How seldom do we rise to God, or taste of joy above! We are of the earth, earthy; and though we hope that we are spiritual to some degree, yet we are compelled to feel that we are carnal.
We acknowledge, God, our sins of omission. We have all forgotten you and forsaken you, times without number. Nor are we without sins of commission too, for we have erred and strayed from your ways like lost sheep. We have done those things which we ought not to have done, as well as left undone those things which we ought to have done.
Amen.
VERSE OF THE DAY (COMMENTARY BY SPURGEON)
“But I have this against you: You have abandoned the love you had at first.” (Revelation 2:4)
I cannot comprehend how it is that some of us are so cold towards the Lord Jesus Christ. How is it that we can, even for a moment, tolerate that wicked, diabolical Laodicean lukewarmness towards him whose love is like a flaming fire? Come, Holy Spirit, give us hot coals! No, give us your own divine sacred fire.
PRAY FOR THE NATIONS
This week, we’re praying for the Abaza of Russia.
The Abaza language is incredibly difficult to learn. The Bible is being translated into this language for the first time.
Pray that the missionaries translating the New Testament would be patient and wise.

I was encouraged by this article by Amy Tyson on the Harvest USA website. It breaks down some of the heart issues beneath body image issues and points to lasting hope in Christ.
LAST WORD FROM SPURGEON
“No time to pray? Had you time to dress? If you had purposed to pray, you would have prayed.” — Charles Spurgeon
