DAILY PRAYER (BY SPURGEON)

May we rest in our God and be quite happy in the thought that he will no more remember our sins and our iniquities. He has brought us into covenant with him by a covenant which can never fail, so like David we may say this morning: “Is it not true my house is with God? For he has established a permanent covenant with me, ordered and secured in every detail” (2 Samuel 23:5).

Amen.

VERSE OF THE DAY (COMMENTARY BY SPURGEON)

“For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:30)

The yoke in which we draw with Christ must be a happy one, and the burden which we carry for him is a blessed one. We rest in the fullest sense when we serve, if Jesus is the Master. We are unloaded by bearing his burden; we are rested by running on his errands. “Come to me”, is thus a divine prescription, curing our ills by the pardon of sin through our Lord’s sacrifice and giving us the greatest peace by sanctifying us to his service.

PRAY FOR THE NATIONS

This week, we’re praying for the Bidio of Chad.

Who is our God, “He rules forever by his might; he keeps his eye on the nations” (Psalm 66:7). God sees the Bidio and he is their rightful king.

Pray that the Bidio would acknowledge the God who made them.
