Daily Newsletter from SpurgeonBooks

Thanks for praying with us this week. We’ll be back on Monday.

DAILY PRAYER (BY SPURGEON)

Let your light and your truth go forth to the most distant parts of the earth: “let the peoples praise you oh God, let all the people praise you.” Give us times of refreshing. May we have a visit from Christ by the power of his Spirit and until he comes may there be a blessed time of peace and salvation. “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven.” Come yourself, great King. May our eyes, if it please you, behold you on earth; but if not, if we fall asleep before that blessed coming, we can say, “But I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the end he will stand on the dust. Even after my skin has been destroyed, yet I will see God in my flesh” (Job 19:25–26).

Amen.

VERSE OF THE DAY (COMMENTARY BY SPURGEON)

“He who testifies about these things says, ‘Yes, I am coming soon.’ Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!” (Revelation 22:20)

If you are tempted to ask, “When will he come?” I give you his own assurance: “Yes, I am coming soon.” So go your way and pray, as John did, “Amen! Come, Lord Jesus.” Christ is coming, literally coming—not figuratively, and by His Spirit, but literally, actually, really.

PRAY FOR THE NATIONS

This week, we’re praying for the Rawas of Indonesia.

Jesus taught, “This good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed in all the world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14). He has not been proclaimed in all the world as long as the Rawas have never heard of him.

Pray that Jesus would receive the glory he is worthy of from the Rawas of Indonesia.

TOMORROW IN THE WEEKEND EDITION

Each Saturday, I send a bonus email to Pray with Spurgeon Plus subscribers. Here’s what to look forward to in tomorrow’s email:

  • Prayer for the Church — Prepare for Sunday with this prayer for the worship service

  • Q&A with Spurgeon — What are some common idols that people trust instead of Christ?

  • Spurgeon’s Letters — A letter Spurgeon sent to his publisher and ministry partner celebrating their friendship (a great example of true Christian unity!)

Don’t miss the Weekend Edition — subscribe to Pray with Spurgeon Plus so that I can continue sending this email for years to come.
