Thanks for praying with us this week. We’ll be back on Monday.

DAILY PRAYER (BY SPURGEON)

Father, oh how we rejoice in Christ, and you do rejoice in him too. We long to glorify him, and you delight to glorify your Son. We would set him on high, and you have set him “far above all principalities and powers, and every name that is named.” Now this day, we pray, “behold our shield and look upon the face of you Anointed;” and while we shelter behind Christ as a shield, let him stand for us, and let the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ be seen, that you might be precious to us unworthy ones.

Amen.

VERSE OF THE DAY (COMMENTARY BY SPURGEON)

“To the Son… You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; this is why God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of joy beyond your companions.” (Hebrews 1:6)

He who is a blessing to others cannot but be glad himself; the unbounded good-doing of Jesus ensures him unlimited joy. The loving favor of his Father, the countenance of God, gives Jesus exceeding joy. This is the purest stream to drink of, and Jesus chooses no other. His joy is full. Its source is divine. Its continuance is eternal.

PRAY FOR THE NATIONS

TThis week, we’re praying for the Imragen in Western Sahara.

God’s people have prayed, “God, be exalted above the heavens; let your glory be over the whole earth” (Psalm 57:5). God’s glory has never been exalted among the Imragen — he is being robbed of fame that he deserves.

Pray that the gospel would reach the Imragen and they would trust in Christ.
