DAILY PRAYER (BY SPURGEON)

Our most earnest prayers go up to heaven to you now for great sinners, for men and women that are polluted and depraved by the filthiest of sins. With sovereign mercy, do a great work among them. Come and capture some of them so that they may become great lovers of him who shall forgive them. May they become great champions for the cross. Above all, Holy Spirit, descend more mightily. God, would you flood the land until there are streams of righteousness; for is there not a promise, “For I will pour water on the thirsty land and streams on the dry ground” (Isaiah 44:3)? Lord, set your people praying; stir up the church to greater prayerfulness.

Amen.

VERSE OF THE DAY (COMMENTARY BY SPURGEON)

“There is no one who does what is good, not even one” (Romans 3:12)

This is God’s verdict upon the whole human race. He has the best opportunity of seeing them, and he has the best capacity for judging them; and this is what he says of all men as they are by nature, “There is none that doeth good, no, not one.”

PRAY FOR THE NATIONS

This week, we’re praying for the Rao in China.

The Rao likely have poor healthcare. Christian medical professionals should go to them, bringing resources and education along with the gospel of Christ.

Pray that Christian doctors and nurses would go the Rao of China.

LAST WORD FROM SPURGEON

“If we had to look for some natural goodness in the sinner before we preached the gospel to him, we should never preach to him at all.” — Charles Spurgeon
