đ Daily Prayer: "God, if there is anything that we delight in that you do not delight in, forgive us."

DAILY PRAYER (BY SPURGEON)
Lord, many of us have been forgiven years ago. We have walked with you, with holy joy and confidence, some of us for a quarter of a century and others for more; yet there may be something between us and you even now, and if there is, then âlet me know why you prosecute meâ (Job 10:2). If you see in your servants any wrong thing encouraged, any evil desire cherished; if there is anything that we delight in that you do not delight in; if we have any habit which grieves you; if we grieve your Holy Spirit in anythingâour Father, forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and then point out to us the trespass and teach our feet to keep the ways of your commandments and to trespass no more; for our heart is right towards your statutes and we desire holiness.
Amen.
VERSE OF THE DAY (COMMENTARY BY SPURGEON)
âYou will call to me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart.â (Jeremiah 29:12â13)
Wholeheartedness is the quality required in every true seeker. This means three things:
First, in order to find the Lord, there must be an undivided objective in the seekerâs mind. The objective is one, and only one.
Second, the phrase âwith all your heartâ indicates seeking God with the entire faculties of our being. A person must seek after God in Christ Jesus with his or her entire nature, including his memory, his conscience, and his will. Leave not a single part of your nature behind you when you come to God, but seek him with your whole heart, with intense eagerness and strong desire.
Third, it signifies awakened energy. It includes getting out of that dull, sluggish, indifferent spirit that seems so common. Indifference to eternal realities seems to impregnate the air we breathe in this world. We are busy with a thousand things but sluggish about our souls.
PRAY FOR THE NATIONS
This week, weâre praying for the Belide in Indonesia.
The Belide live in traditional houses, situated close to rivers and raised on wooden or brick columns. They have a unique culture that missionaries will have to study and learn in order to minister among them.
Pray that the missionaries God will send to the Belide would have wisdom to learn the culture well.
RECOMMENDED RESOURCE
Did you know that Pray with Spurgeon will turn SIX next month?
Sending this newsletter has been a labor of love for the past six years. However, as the list has grown (by Godâs grace), the cost of keeping it up has also increased. Earlier this year, I launched Pray with Spurgeon Plus â a new premium subscription to help support this work. I wanted to take a moment to answer some of your questions about this new subscription.
Will Pray with Spurgeon stop being free?
NO. Pray with Spurgeon has always been free and it always will be. Pray with Spurgeon Plus is a way for some subscribers to support this work and gain access to bonus features.
What will I get with my paid subscription?
Audio Edition â Each day, along with the normal Pray with Spurgeon content that you love, youâll also receive an audio edition. Listen to Pray with Spurgeon in the car, while you cook breakfast, or anywhere else on the go.
Weekend Edition â The Weekend Edition will return! This much-beloved Saturday email includes a prayer to help you prepare for church. The new and improved Weekend Edition will include other content from Spurgeon, including his personal letters (which are really encouraging devotional reading!)
Support the Ministry â With your help, we can make sure Pray with Spurgeon continues to exist to help everyone grow their prayer life and learn from Spurgeon.
Is there a difference in the monthly or annual subscription?
No. Both subscription types will receive the same content. The annual subscription allows me to save on credit card transaction fees (and will give you a free month!), so it is a great way to support the ministry.
You shouldnât charge for prayers!
I agree, which is why Pray with Spurgeon will always be free. For those who are able to support the ministry financially, Pray with Spurgeon Plus is a way to do that.
How can I sign up?
You can subscribe right here. Thanks for your support!
FAITHâS CHECKBOOK
Spurgeonâs classic devotional, The Chequebook of the Bank of Faith, contains a promise of God for every day of the year. Pray with Spurgeon Plus subscribers receive the daily readings every weekday.
If you want to strengthen your faith in Godâs promises (and support this ministry!), subscribe to Pray with Spurgeon Plus here.
âI will make a distinction between my people and your people. This sign will take place tomorrow.â (Exodus 8:23)
Pharaoh has a people and the Lord has a people. These people may live together and things may seem to be the same for each of them, but there is a division between them and the Lord will make it apparent. The same event will not always happen in the same way to all; there shall be great difference between the people of the world and the people of the Lordâs choice. This may happen in the time of the final judgment, when the Lord becomes the sanctuary of his saints.
It is very clear in the conversion of believers that their sin is put away and forgiven, while unbelievers remain under condemnation. From that moment, believers become a distinct race, come under a new discipline, and enjoy new blessings. Their homes, from then on, are free from the grievous swarms of evils which defile and torment the Egyptians. They are kept from the pollution of lust, the bite of care, the corruption of falsehood, and the cruel torment of hatred, which devour many families.
Rest assured, tried believer, even though you have your troubles, you are saved from swarms of worse ones which infest the homes and hearts of the servants of the worldâs prince. The Lord has made a distinction; make sure that you keep up the division in spirit, aim, character and company.
Something to think about today if youâre feeling like other people are getting ahead unfairly: God sees the truth and everything will be made right in the end.
