DAILY PRAYER (BY SPURGEON)

All the church worships you God, every heart renewed by grace takes a delight in adoring you, and we, among the others, though the least and smallest of them all, yet would bow as heartily as any worshiping, loving, praising, in our soul, being silent before God because our joy in him is altogether inexpressible. Lord, help us to worship you in life as well as lip. May our whole being be taken up with you. As when the fire fell down on Elijah’s sacrifice of old and licked up even the water that was in the trenches, so may the consuming fire of the divine Spirit use up all our nature, and even that which might seem to hinder, even out of that may God get glory by the removal of it. In that way we would adore you.

“So diligently watch yourselves! Love the LORD your God! If you ever turn away and become loyal to the rest of these nations remaining among you, and if you intermarry or associate with them and they with you, know for certain that the LORD your God will not continue to drive these nations out before you. They will become a snare and a trap for you, a sharp stick for your sides and thorns in your eyes, until you disappear from this good land the LORD your God has given you.” (Joshua 23:11–13)

Sin is weakness. Love to God gives us the strength of God.

PRAY FOR THE NATIONS

This week, we’re praying for the Naruo of China.

The Naruo believe in many gods, and live in fear of demons and spirits. They do not know the God who made them and rules over all spirits.

Pray that the Naruo would hear about Jesus who cast out demons.
