PRAYER FOR THE CHURCH (BY SPURGEON)
We pray for the entire church. We pray for some of your own people who seem to be doing very little for you. Lord, have mercy upon those whose strength runs towards the world, and who give but little of their strength to the spread of the gospel and the winning of souls. O let none of us fritter away our existence; may we begin to live since Christ has died; may we reckon that because he died, we died to all the world, and because he lives, we live in newness of life. Lord we thank you for that newness of life.
Amen.

WEEKEND LONG READ (SERMON BY SPURGEON)
“It was a night of vigil in honor of the LORD, because he would bring them out of the land of Egypt.” (Exodus 12:42)
Of course you will understand that our text relates to the Passover. This is its first meaning. The Israelites were enjoined never to forget that they were once slaves in Egypt, and that God with a strong hand brought them forth. But, dear friends, the Passover was a type of our Lord’s passion. He is the Lamb of God’s Passover. It is by his blood that we are preserved; it is by virtue of his sacrifice that God passes over us who through faith have received the sprinkling of that blood.

A Brief Biblical Theology of the Transfiguration
The transfiguration is the name of that incredible event, when Jesus took some of his disciples to the top of a mountain and he began to shine brighter than the sun, then Moses and Elijah appeared and began to talk with Jesus.
You know that story, but do you know what it means? MBTS Professor Patrick Schreiner has written a whole book unpacking this incredible display of Christ’s glory. And you can read a summary of it right here.
PREPARE FOR MINISTRY AT MIDWESTERN
What Jesus purchased is precious. We've made it our purpose. Midwestern Seminary exists for the church, and we serve the church by biblically educating God-called men and women to be and make disciples of Jesus Christ. If you're called to serve the church, train with us, for the Church.
