DAILY PRAYER (BY SPURGEON)
Save your people from unbelief, save them from confidence in ourselves. Bring us one and all to be, as to the world, even as a weaned child. May we be finished with these things; and as to Thee, O Lord, may we seek after more of you every day with strong desire, and cling to you as our sure confidence forevermore.
Help us all this morning, without exception, who are tried and troubled, take up the place of sitting still, leaving, with quiet trust, everything in the hands of God. Great captain, you shall steer the ship, and we will not be troubled. By your grace, we will leave everything most sweetly in your hands. Where else should these things be left? and we will take up the note of joyous song, in anticipation of the deliverance which will surely come.
Amen.
VERSE OF THE DAY (COMMENTARY BY SPURGEON)
âTruly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you tell this mountain, âBe lifted up and thrown into the sea,â it will be done.â (Matthew 21:21)
God may not work miracles for us, but he will do all that we need in accordance with our faith. But here also the faith that we exercise in him must be free from doubt.
Before a living faith, barren systems of religion will wither away; and by the power of undoubting confidence in God, mountains of difficulty shall be removed, and cast into the sea. Have we ever spoken in Christâs name to barren fig trees and obstructing mountains, bidding them depart out of our way? If not, where is our faith? If we have faith and doubt not, we shall know the truth of this promise: it shall be done. Apart from the actual possession of unwavering faith, the words of our Lord will seem fabulous.
PRAY FOR THE NATIONS
This week, weâre praying for the Mengwu of China.
This is an ethnic group of 24,000 people, with (as far as we know), zero Christians among them. If every Christian shared the gospel with every non-Christian they know, the Mengwu still wouldnât hear the gospel. They donât know any Christians.
Pray that God would send missionaries to the Mengwu.

LAST WORD FROM SPURGEON
