DAILY PRAYER (BY SPURGEON)
Let missionaries be helped by your Spirit and may there come a day in which the minds of men may be better prepared to receive the gospel, and may Messiahâs Kingdom come to the overthrow of her who sits on the seven hills (Revelation 17:9) and to the eternal waning of Mohammedâs moon, to the overthrow of every idol, that Christ alone may reign. Our whole heart comes out in this.
Reign, Immanuel, reign; sit on the high throne; ride on your white horse; and let the armies of heaven follow you, conquering and to conquer. Come, Lord Jesus; even so, come quickly.
Amen.
VERSE OF THE DAY (COMMENTARY BY SPURGEON)
âMay God be gracious to us and bless us; may he make his face shine upon us so that your way may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations.â (Psalm 67:1â2)
All nations need Godâs salvation, but many of them do not know it, desire it, or seek it; our prayer and labor should be that the knowledge of salvation may become as universal as the light of the sun. Despite the gloomy notions of some, we cling to the belief that the kingdom of Christ will embrace the whole habitable globe and that all flesh shall see the salvation of God: for this glorious consummation we agonize in prayer.
PRAY FOR THE NATIONS
This week, weâre praying for the Younuo of China.
The Chinese Communist Party, which controls China, seeks to control Christians and their message, making real evangelism difficult.
Pray that Christians in the underground church in China would be made aware of the Younuo and boldly bring the true gospel to them.
RECOMMENDED RESOURCE
FINALLY: A discipleship course that helps women get honest about sexual sin, while finding real restoration from the grace of Jesus.*
Sexual purity isnât about âsaving yourselfâ for your husband; itâs about BEING SAVED by Jesus from the sin that so easily ensnares us.
Often, when we talk about sexual sin, we seem to forget everything we believe about Godâs grace. Thankfully, Godâs grace is still at work, even in the darkest moments of our foulest sins.
If youâre a woman struggling with sexual sin, I know a great resource to help you in the fight. Itâs a free video series/discipleship course called Transforming Love.
Itâs all about remembering Godâs grace, even in our worst sin and most tragic suffering, and moving forward with the strength grace supplies.
This course will offer you first steps towards heart-transforming long-term change, not just short-term behavior modification, by understanding where sin/behavior comes from (the heart).
Hereâs what to look forward toâŚ
Six 30-minute video sessions.
Includes a free downloadable participantâs guide
Teaching WHY we sin (so that we can pursue long-term change), not just stopping sinful behavior.
Use it in a group, one-on-one, or on your own
Remember the transforming love of Jesus in your darkest sin and suffering.
This course is REALLY powerful and itâs 100% free for you!
(And If youâre a woman who does NOT struggle with sexual sin, maybe invite women in your church to go through the course with you. Just imagine what God will do as you create a safe space for women to be honest and experience grace together.)
LAST WORD FROM SPURGEON
âHappy will the day be when all nations shall unite to worship the Lord alone.â â Charles Spurgeon
