DAILY PRAYER (BY SPURGEON)
Lord God, the unnumbered armies of heaven, washed in the blood, are bowing before you now, proclaiming eternal honors to him who sits upon the throne and to the Lamb. Behold all the angels in heaven join in that adoration, ascribing all honor and praise to the Lord our God. And we, in the outward rank, further off from the central throne, bow also, and here on this darkened planet we worship him who made heaven and earth. We worship the blessed One who has redeemed us with his precious blood and we worship that glorious Spirit by whom we have been quickened and called unto the knowledge of God. To the one God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God and Father of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to him be glory forever and ever, and from the very bottom of our hearts we utter this doxology.
Amen.
VERSE OF THE DAY (COMMENTARY BY SPURGEON)
“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.” (Revelation 21:1)
The apostle Peter has told us that this world also will be destroyed by fire, but it will afterwards be renewed, and a new sky and a new earth will appear after the first firmament and the first earth shall have become extinct. God means that this planet should continue to exist after it has had a new creation, and renewed its youth. The regeneration of his people, their new birth, is a foretaste of what is yet to happen to this whole world of ours. We have the first-fruits of the Spirit, and we groan within ourselves while we wait for the fulness of that new creation.
PRAY FOR THE NATIONS
This week, we’re praying for the Mjuniang of China.
The Mjuniang have a distinct culture from the rest of China. Bringing the gospel to them will require wisdom and care as missionaries must learn a new culture and language.
Pray that God would send missionaries to the Mjuniang who are full of wisdom.

A Book That Will Make You Long for Jesus To Return
Many Christians are really confused about eternal life. We won’t live forever in the Garden of Eden or float on a cloud with a harp forever — God’s plan is actually much better than that.
In Even Better Than Eden, Nancy Guthrie traces nine themes from the Garden, through the fall, and to the New Jerusalem to show that God’s gracious plan is at work and the end really will be better than the beginning.
If you want to grow your hope and see how God’s plan for eternal life should change your life today, this will be a wonderful, encouraging read for you.
LAST WORD FROM SPURGEON
