DAILY PRAYER (BY SPURGEON)
Oh blessed savior, we ask for all believers to realize their union with Christ Jesus. Oh that our hearts might follow you upward to your throne ascending high. Let us rise with you by a joyous confidence, for we shall be there before long, and let us now survey your power, your state, the glories of your kingly condition, where you sit at the right-hand of God forever, having finished the propitiation for the sins of men. We worship you, Immanuel—“God with us.” We adore you Jesus, standing before the Father’s throne.
Amen.
VERSE OF THE DAY (COMMENTARY BY SPURGEON)
“... the voice of the LORD in power, the voice of the LORD in splendor.” (Psalm 29:4)
His voice shakes both earth and heaven; see that you do not refuse him who speaks. If his voice is this mighty, what must his hand be! Beware lest you provoke a blow. The King of kings speaks like a king. As when a lion roars, all the beasts of the forest are still, so is the earth hushed and mute while the Lord thunders marvelously.
PRAY FOR THE NATIONS
This week, we’re praying for the Pashtun of Pakistan.
Ongoing violence and instability has made life difficult for many Pashtun.
