DAILY PRAYER (BY SPURGEON)
God of peace, send us peace always, by all means. Sword of the Lord rest and be quiet now and may the gospel with its good influences spread over all nations until there shall be no selfish clutching, no greedy grasping at territories, no oppression of one race by another; but may the laws of the King of Peace be universally proclaimed and obeyed even by those who perhaps do not yield their hearts to his reign. We know, great King, that while you have a special kingdom in your people, yet the Lord has given you power over all flesh and we pray this may be recognized and we may see it. Your kingdom come, oh Jesus; may your kingdom comeâyour Fatherâs kingdom; and let his will be done on earth as it is in heaven; for yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever.
Amen.
VERSE OF THE DAY (COMMENTARY BY SPURGEON)
âNow to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.â (1 Timothy 1:17)
âNow, now, now, now, now, now, now,â that is the word for every saved soul. Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, be endless glory. Do you not respond to the call with immediate praise? Oh, for a seraphâs coal to touch these stammering lips! As a sinner saved by my Lord and King, I would gladly pour out my life in a continual stream of praise to my redeeming Lord.
PRAY FOR THE NATIONS
This week, weâre praying for the Lisi of Chad.
The Lisi do not have the Bible in their language, Naba.
Pray that the New Testament would be faithfully translated into the Naba language soon.

Jesus is the King that All of Scripture Has Been Longing For
This week as we have focused on the theme of Christ as our king, Iâm reminded of one of my favorite books on the topic: The King Jesus Gospel by Scot McKnight. McKnight traces the word âgospelâ throughout Scripture to show that Godâs people have always been waiting for a king. When Jesus came preaching the good news of the Kingdom of God, it wasnât a random event â he was claiming to fulfill what Godâs people had been desiring for centuries: a king to make everything right again.
This book will encourage you, deepen your appreciation for Jesus, and fill you with hope for his return. I hope youâll grab a copy today.
