Thanks for praying with us this week. We’ll be back on Monday.

DAILY PRAYER (BY SPURGEON)

There may be some here that are so tossed about mentally, that are so dismayed with inward temptation, so out of their wits by the assaults of Satan, that they know not what to do.

The Lord help his servants, when they are in extremity, to feel that now is the time for God to begin; and when they are driven over the very verge of hope, and the precipice of despair is before them, oh grant them grace to fall into the arms of Jesus, and there shall they find life from the dead.

Amen.

VERSE OF THE DAY (COMMENTARY BY SPURGEON)

“And those he predestined, he also called; and those he called, he also justified; and those he justified, he also glorified.” (Romans 8:30)

You may be poor, or in suffering, or unknown, but for your encouragement take a review of your “calling” and the consequences that flow from it, and especially that blessed result here spoken of. As surely as you are God’s child today, so surely shall all your trials soon be at an end, and you shall be rich to all the intents of bliss.

PRAY FOR THE NATIONS

This week, we’re praying for the Kibet of Chad.

God’s Word says that “the nations will fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth your glory” (Psalm 102:15). Today, many nations like the Kibet have never heard the name of the Lord and do not fear him and many “kings” or leaders make the spread of the gospel difficult. We pray with hope that God WILL finish his mission.

Pray that the Kibet will worship Christ forever.

  • Q&A with Spurgeon — Why do people abandon the faith?

  • Spurgeon’s Letters — A romantic (and theologically loaded!) letter that Spurgeon sent to his future wife.

Don’t miss the Weekend Edition — subscribe to Pray with Spurgeon Plus so that I can continue sending this email for years to come.

LAST WORD FROM SPURGEON
