DAILY PRAYER (BY SPURGEON)
We pray today that your truth may prevail against the many antichrists that have gone forth against it. Our Father, restore a pure language to your people once again. Take away, we pray, the itching for new doctrine, the longing for that which is thought to be scientific and wise above what is written and may your church cast anchor in the truth of God and abide there; and if it be your will, may we live to see brighter and better times.
Amen.
VERSE OF THE DAY (COMMENTARY BY SPURGEON)
āFor the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, will multiply teachers for themselves because they have an itch to hear what they want to hear. They will turn away from hearing the truth and will turn aside to myths.ā (2 Timothy 4:3ā4)
When a man will not believe the truth, he is sure before long to be a greedy believer of lies. No people are so credulous as skeptics. There is no absurdity so gross but what an unbeliever will very soon be brought to receive it, though he rejects the truth of God.
PRAY FOR THE NATIONS
This week, weāre praying for the Amat in India.
This ethnic group of 274,000 have likely never heard of Jesus or even met a Christian. They cannot hear the gospel unless someone brings it from the outside.
Pray that God would send missionaries to the Amat.

A new book from the creator of Pray with Spurgeon
Letās be honest: sex in marriage is meant to be safe, unifying, pleasurable, and really, really good. So why isnāt it?
When selfishness invades marriage, everything goes wrong. Weāve corrupted Godās design for marriage with our self-seeking attitude and then act surprised when we arenāt satisfied by it. This might be more apparent in our sexual relationship than anywhere else.
Sex can be one of the most pleasurable things weāll experience within marriage, but it requires us to be really vulnerable ā and when things donāt go well, that vulnerability puts us at risk of real pain.
With these high risks and high rewards in mind, how should we move forward? What does it look like to pursue sex in a way that honors our spouse AND honors God?
Itās a really good question. And Iām really excited to share that I wrote a book to answer it!
My first book, Sex and Self-Forgetfulness, is available NOW for pre-order wherever books are sold.
Hereās the basic idea: The Christian secret to a fulfilling sex life isnāt that secret; itās about living in our bedrooms the same way that Jesus calls us to live everywhere: laying down our lives to serve others.
This 30-day devotional will strengthen your marriage and make sex more wonderful for both spouses.
If you desire for sex to beā¦
Safe
Unifying
Wonderful
God-Glorifying
Pure
Really, really pleasurable
⦠then this book is for you.
