Thanks for praying with us this week. We’ll be back on Monday.

DAILY PRAYER (BY SPURGEON)

Lord, we adore and praise you. We worship Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, the one God of Israel. We offer every blessing to the God of blessing, to whom be glory, and honor, and power, and light, and might, and dominion forever and ever. We wish we could always be adoring you. It is our heaven on earth, and it will be our heaven in heaven forever to glorify God. This is our chief end, and we only find our bliss when we are able to reach it. But, blessed God, words cannot speak our reverence; praise sits on our tongue while we adore the God of the covenant, the God and Father of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, our God forever and ever, who shall be our guide even unto death.

Amen.

VERSE OF THE DAY (COMMENTARY BY SPURGEON)

“Our citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly wait for a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 3:20)

If our citizenship is in heaven then we are aliens here; we are strangers and foreigners, pilgrims and sojourners in the earth, as all our fathers were. In the words of Scripture, “Here we do not have a permanent city,” but we “aspire to a better land, that is, a heavenly one” (Heb rews13:14; 11:16).

PRAY FOR THE NATIONS

This week, we’re praying for the Mjuniang of China.

“All the nations you have made will come and bow down before you, Lord, and will honor your name” (Psalm 86:9).

Pray that the Mjuniang would bow before the Lord Jesus and honor him for the first time.

LAST WORD FROM SPURGEON

“There is no going on in sin and going to heaven. That cannot be. You must quit sin or quit hope.” — Charles Spurgeon
