DAILY PRAYER (BY SPURGEON)
Our first prayer today shall be for those people we know who do not pray. There is an ancient promise of yours, “I was found by those who did not seek me. I said, ‘Here I am, here I am,’ to a nation that did not call on my name” (Isaiah 65:1). Prove the sovereignty of your grace, the priority of your power, which runs before the will of man, by making many willing on the day of your power, and calling the things that are not as though they were. May the day come in which those people who are in their graves shall hear the voice of God, and they that hear shall live.
Amen.
VERSE OF THE DAY (COMMENTARY BY SPURGEON)
“If you seek him, he will be found by you…” (1 Chronicles 28:9)
This promise is not, “if you deserve him, you will find him” or “if you purchase his favor, you will find him” but merely if you seek him. What strong assurance this promise gives to the seeker! You, yes you, if you seek your God, shall find him. When you find him you have found life, pardon, sanctification, preservation, and glory. Will you not seek, and seek on, since you shall not seek in vain?
PRAY FOR THE NATIONS
This week, we’re praying for the Micha of China.
So distracted by long held traditional beliefs (like ancestor worship), the Micha do not seek God. They cannot seek Christ, for they have never heard of him.
Pray that missionaries with the message of Jesus would call the Micha to seek the one true God.

Teaching Kids Purity in a Hyper-Sexualized World*
Have you seen the latest statistics about teenagers and pornography? They’re horrifying.
Almost every teen (73%) says they have consumed pornography.
The average age of first exposure to pornography is 12.
15% of kids say they first saw porn at age 10 or younger.
Here’s what Christian parents need to realize about these numbers: if we don’t teach our kids to think biblically about sexuality, the world will certainly teach them other ways to think.
If you need help starting, continuing, or reviving this conversation in your home, please check out “Raising Sexually Faithful Kids.” This is a FREE video course to help parents confidently (and biblically!) talk about sexuality and more with their kids.
No matter how old your kids are, this course will give you a good foundation to talk with them.
FAITH’S CHECKBOOK
Spurgeon’s classic devotional, The Chequebook of the Bank of Faith, contains a promise of God for every day of the year. Pray with Spurgeon Plus subscribers receive the daily readings every weekday.

“Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
We who are saved find rest in Jesus. Those who are not saved will receive rest if they come to him, for he promises to give it. Nothing can be freer than a gift; let us gladly accept what he gladly gives. You cannot buy it or borrow it; but you must receive it as a gift. You labor under the whip of ambition, covetousness, lust, or anxiety; he will set you free from these chains and give you rest. You are “burdened” with sin, fear, worry, remorse, fear of death, and more; but if you come to him, he will unload you. He carried the crushing mass of our sins, so that we wouldn’t have to carry it any longer. He made himself the great burden-bearer, so that every heavy laden one might stop being crushed under the enormous pressure.
Jesus gives rest. It is so. Will you believe it? Will you put it to the test? Will you do so at once? Come to Jesus by abandoning every other hope, by thinking of him, believing God’s testimony about him, and trusting everything to him. If you come to him in this way, the rest which he will give you will be deep, safe, holy, and everlasting. He gives a rest which develops into heaven and he gives it this day to all who come to him.
Something to think about today if you’re feeling weary: Resist the temptation to seek self-sufficiency. Bring your burdens to Jesus, who promises rest.
LAST WORD FROM SPURGEON
“Get a hold of a promise of God and you may pray with great boldness, for the Lord will not run back from his own Word.” — Charles Spurgeon
