DAILY PRAYER (BY SPURGEON)
What strange creatures we are! The little world within us has its summer and its winter, its heartquakes, its tornadoes, its storms. Great Master, govern the world of our inner nature as you govern the world of nature, and may we conquer it. May we yet come into the certainties, where the birds sit on the waves and all is still. We shall come there we know in heaven, but even now give us the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, the perfect rest of conquered self, and of simple confidence in you.
Help us to have no master but our God, no law but his will, no delight but himself.
Amen.
VERSE OF THE DAY (COMMENTARY BY SPURGEON)
“… you belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God.” (1 Corinthians 3:23)
You are his by donation, for the Father gave you to the Son; his by his bloody purchase, for he counted down the price for your redemption; his by dedication, for you have consecrated yourself to him; his by relation, for you are named by his name, and made one of his brothers and joint-heirs. Labor practically to show the world that you are the servant, the friend, the bride of Jesus. When tempted to sin, reply, “I cannot do this great wickedness, for I am Christ’s.”
PRAY FOR THE NATIONS
This week, we’re praying for the Dangarik in Pakistan.
God has said that his “name will be great among the nations” (Malachi 1:11). Our God desires glory from all people groups, but he has not yet received worship from the Dangarik.
Pray that missionaries would proclaim the greatness of God among the Dangarik..
