DAILY PRAYER (BY SPURGEON)

Prosper us in the ministries to which we set our hands. Bless our young men that go forth from us to preach the word. Blessed is the man that has his quiver full of them. May there be many more of them raised up in this church that shall preach Christ crucified. Give to the church more and more the spirit of evangelization. May many young men in the church, that are now sitting still and quiet, be moved to preach even in the streets, the unsearchable riches of Christ.

Amen.

VERSE OF THE DAY (COMMENTARY BY SPURGEON)

“However, suppose the watchman sees the sword coming but doesn’t blow the trumpet, so that the people aren’t warned, and the sword comes and takes away their lives. Then they have been taken away because of their iniquity, but I will hold the watchman accountable for their blood.” (Ezekiel 33:6)

This is a very solemn truth. It not only concerns me, and the many ministers of Christ who are here, but it is for all of you who know the Lord, for you also are set as watchmen to your families, to your neighbors, to the class which you teach. May God grant that we may, each one of us, be delivered from other men’s sins, for we may become partakers with them in their iniquity unless we bear our testimony against them, and give them warning of the consequences of their evil-doing!

PRAY FOR THE NATIONS

This week, we’re praying for the Harzani of Iran.

The Bible has not been translated into the Harzani language. How can they hear the words of life unless someone brings it to them?

Pray that qualified Bible translators would bring God’s Word to the Harzani.

RECOMMENDED RESOURCE

To live out God’s design for marriage is an important work. And in the midst of a culture that encourages us to disregard marriage and complain about our spouses, we won’t become the husbands and wives that God has called us to be without a great deal of intentionality.

Marriage doesn’t solve our problems.

And we will never become holy by accident.
