DAILY PRAYER (BY SPURGEON)
We trusted in you when many evils surrounded us and we were tempted in many ways, and you brought us out into a wealthy place. You set our feet upon a rock and established our steps. We trusted in you too feebly in the hour of our distress when we were troubled exceedingly with earthly things, still you did not fail us, though our faith trembled. Though we did not believe, you remained faithful. The Lord has helped his people, yes the Lord has been the strength and the help of his chosen. “One who is righteous has many adversities, but the LORD rescues him from them all” (Psalm 34:19); and at this moment, in looking back upon the past, we have nothing to do but to admire and to adore the steadfastness of love and the faithfulness of grace.
Amen.
VERSE OF THE DAY (COMMENTARY BY SPURGEON)
“I say, then, walk by the Spirit and you will certainly not carry out the desire of the flesh.” (Galatians 5:16)
Walk under the Spirit’s power, following his guidance. The Spirit never leads a man into sin. He never conducts him into self-indulgence and excess. Be obedient to that great principle of the Spirit that goes with the doctrine of grace and salvation by faith, and then you will not be obedient to that lusting of the flesh that is in you by nature.
PRAY FOR THE NATIONS
This week, we’re praying for the Razihi of Yemen.
The good news of Jesus has been revealed in order “to advance the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles” (Romans 16:26). This message has never advanced to the Razihi, so they cannot have the obedience of faith.
Pray that the Razihi would hear the gospel.

LAST WORD FROM SPURGEON
“To flee the conflict with sin will be to lose the joys of the new and better Eden.” — Charles Spurgeon
