Daily Newsletter from SpurgeonBooks

Thanks for praying with us this week. We’ll be back on Monday.

DAILY PRAYER (BY SPURGEON)

Lord God, the fountain of all fullness, we, who are nothing but emptiness, come to you for all supplies, and we do not come in vain, because we bear with us a plea which is all prevalent. Because we come commanded by your Word, encouraged by your promise, and preceded by Christ Jesus, our great High Priest, we know that whatever we shall ask in prayer, believing, we shall receive. Help us now to ask right things, and may the utterances of our mouth be acceptable in your sight, God our strength and our redeemer.

Amen.

VERSE OF THE DAY (COMMENTARY BY SPURGEON)

ā€œWho is this King of glory? The LORD, strong and mighty, the LORD, mighty in battle.ā€ (Psalm 24:8)

We know the might of Jesus by the battles which he has fought, the victories which he has won over sin, and death, and hell, and we clap our hands as we see him leading captivity captive in the majesty of his strength. Oh for a heart to sing his praises! Mighty hero, be thou crowned for ever King of kings and Lord of lords.

PRAY FOR THE NATIONS

This week, we’re praying for the Kluet of Indonesia.

There have never been any Christians, missionaries, or churches among the Kluet. They have no Bible or Christian resources in their language. Christ died for people ā€œfrom every tribe and language and people and nationā€ (Revelation 5:9) but hasn’t yet received the reward of his suffering from the Kluet.

Pray that the gospel would go to the Kluet and they would believe the good news.

TOMORROW IN THE WEEKEND EDITION

Each Saturday, I send a bonus email to Pray with Spurgeon Plus subscribers. Here’s what to look forward to in tomorrow’s email:

  • Prayer for the Church — Prepare for Sunday with this prayer for the worship service

  • Q&A with Spurgeon — What should I do if I can’t pray long enough prayers?

  • Spurgeon’s Letters — A letter that Spurgeon sent to his publisher after a courier delivered a sermon manuscript to be reviewed before publication to Spurgeon on a snowy night.

Don’t miss the Weekend Edition — subscribe to Pray with Spurgeon Plus so that I can continue sending this email for years to come.

LAST WORD FROM SPURGEON
