DAILY PRAYER (BY SPURGEON)

Glorious Lord God; our faith is fully assured of your being, and our heart rejoices in your infinite love. Blessed was the day when first we knew our God. We mourn and lament with deep repentance, that we should have lived so long as strangers to our best friend, to him in whose hand our breath is, and whose are all our ways. It is of your grace that we were ever brought to know you. Had we been left to ourselves, we should have wandered on, and have remained in darkness until this day; but blessed be your name, God of all grace, you have revealed yourself to us, you have brought your life to our death, and made us alive in you.

Amen.

VERSE OF THE DAY (COMMENTARY BY SPURGEON)

“Let everything that breathes praise the LORD. Hallelujah!” (Psalm 150:6)

He gave them breath, let them breathe his praise. All living things, join in the eternal song. Whether you are the least or greatest, withhold not your praises. What a day will it be when all things in all places unite to glorify the one only living and true God! This will be the final triumph of the church of God.

PRAY FOR THE NATIONS

This week, we’re praying for the Balti of Pakistan.

About 500 years ago, the Balti were converted from Buddhism to Islam by Sufi Muslim missionaries. Pray that they would come to know the one true God through Jesus Christ.

Pray that Christian missionaries would bring the good news of Christ to the Balti.
