DAILY PRAYER (BY SPURGEON)
We pray that you would help us to adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things. If we are fighting against sin—“the sin which so easily ensnares us”—Lord, lend us heavenly weapons and heavenly strength that we may cut the giants down, these men of Anak that come against us. We feel very feeble. Make us strong in the Lord, in the power of his might. May we never let sin have any rest in us, may we chase it, drive it out, slay it, hang it on a tree, abhor it, and may we “cleave to that which is good.”
Amen.
VERSE OF THE DAY (COMMENTARY BY SPURGEON)
“... and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the mighty working of his strength. He exercised this power in Christ by raising him from the dead…” (Ephesians 1:19–20)
This power was irresistible. All the soldiers and the high priests could not keep the body of Christ in the tomb; Death himself could not hold Jesus in his bonds: even thus irresistible is the power put forth in the believer when he is raised to newness of life. No sin, no corruption, no devils in hell nor sinners upon earth, can stay the hand of God’s grace when it intends to convert a man. If God omnipotently says, “Thou shalt,” man shall not say, “I will not.”
PRAY FOR THE NATIONS
This week, we’re praying for the Kluet of Indonesia.
The Kluet live in close knit communities and are very closed-off to outsiders, but their only hope of hearing the good news of Jesus is for an outsider to bring it to them.
Pray that missionaries going to the Kluet of Indonesia would have wisdom as they relate to the people.

Caring for the wayward? Don’t grow weary of doing good*
As a pastor, I know that caring for straying sheep is uniquely exhausting. Whether you’re in ministry leadership or just living as a faithful Christian, God will use you to call your brothers and sisters back from sin — an important work that we all need to persevere in.
My friends at Harvest USA just put out a really encouraging article, “Be Anchored in God’s Love as You Care for Sexual Strugglers.” If you’ve been feeling weary in ministry recently, this article will really encourage you.
