DAILY PRAYER (BY SPURGEON)
May your will be done, oh Lord, on earth as it is in heaven. That would make earth a lower-heaven. God, help people to give up their own wills, their own lustings, their own pride, and follow after you in obedience. Holy Spirit, you alone can do this. All the eloquence of preachers will affect nothing without the Holy Spirit. We trust not in music, nor education, nor in civilization, nor in anything but the distinct power of the Holy Spirit, working in men to will and to do God's own good pleasure. Our Father, take your great power to yourself. You are Lord of all and even the will of man which you have made so free, is in bonds until you are the master of it, and then, when it is in bound to you, it becomes alone truly free.
Amen.
VERSE OF THE DAY (COMMENTARY BY SPURGEON)
“But he gives greater grace. Therefore he says: God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.” (James 4:6)
Lay aside that fighting spirit,—that effort to pull others down so as to raise yourself up,—and bow before God, yield yourself wholly to his blessed will. This is the way of peace, and the way of joy, too.
PRAY FOR THE NATIONS
This week, we’re praying for the Lafofa of Sudan.
God’s Word declares that “All the nations will come and worship before Christ” (Revelation 15:4), but the Lafofa have never worshiped Christ.
Pray that the gospel would spread to the Lafofa for the sake of the name of Jesus.

LAST WORD FROM SPURGEON
“As long as a man has anything to boast of, there is no Christ for him, but the moment he has nothing of his own, Christ is his.” — Charles Spurgeon
