DAILY PRAYER (BY SPURGEON)
Above all, long-expected Messiah, do come! Your ancient people who despised you once are waiting for you in your second coming, and we, the Gentiles, who did not know not, neither regarded you, we, too, are watching for your coming. Make no tarrying, oh Jesus! May your feet stand again on Mount Olivet soon! You shall not have this time there to sweat great drops of blood, but you shall come to proclaim the year of vengeance for your foes and the year of acceptance for your people.
Amen.
VERSE OF THE DAY (COMMENTARY BY SPURGEON)
“Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn over him. So it is to be. Amen.” (Revelation 1:7)
Your eye, dear friend, and mine. “Every eye shall see him.” Whatever in the future we shall not see, we shall see him. We may depend upon that. “And they also which pierced him.” What a sight it will be for them—not only for those Romans and Jews who actually put him to death, but for all of us who by our sins have pierced him, by our evil words, our backslidings, have put him to shame.
PRAY FOR THE NATIONS
This week, we’re praying for the Rawas of Indonesia.
On the day of Christ’s return, “All the nations will be gathered before him” for judgment (Matthew 25:32). The Rawas will stand before Christ to be judged without ever hearing the hope of the gospel unless someone brings it to them.
Pray that God would be glorified among the Rawas.
