DAILY PRAYER (BY SPURGEON)
Blessed Lord, we trust there are beginnings and outlines of your own character in us, through your Holy Spirit; but let that work be carried on, putting more of the contents of beauty, more of the sweetness, the gentleness, the tenderness, that was in you. Divine sculptor, the divine Spirit; continue to fashion us, until, as Jesus was, so we may be. We will not ask to be spared pain or sorrow if we will just grow in grace and in the likeness of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Make us such, that even you yourself can look upon us in Christ and see with delight the work of your own hands.
Some of us have a hard struggle against inward corruption and hindering circumstances, and impetuous passions. Subdue us, Lord. Bring every thought into captivity to the law of Christ. Lead us as captives, triumphing over us in every place, and making even devils to see how sin is conquered in us, and that Christ reigns.
Amen.
VERSE OF THE DAY (COMMENTARY BY SPURGEON)
āFor all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God; they are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.ā (Romans 3:24)
That is a very wonderful verse, every word of it is full of meaning.
āJustified,ā that is, accounted just, made to be righteous in the sight of God.
āJustified freely,ā without any merit or purchase money.
āJustified freely by his grace,ā not an act of justice, but an act of mercy has made sinners just in the sight of God.
āJustified freely by his grace through the redemption,ā there is the foundation of it all, we are redeemed by precious blood, that āredemption that is in Christ Jesus.ā
PRAY FOR THE NATIONS
This week, weāre praying for the Rao in China.
The heavenly host praises Christ like this: ājust and true are your ways, King of the nationsā (Revelation 15:3). Christ IS the king of the Rao, but they have never heard of him. This is wrong and we should care about it.
Pray that Christ the Lord would be acknowledged among the Rao.

āSalvation is a miracle. It is as much a work of God to make us children of light as it was to make light at the first.ā ā Charles Spurgeon
