PRAYER FOR THE CHURCH (BY SPURGEON)

Our Father, we earnestly pray that you would look upon those who are unconverted among our church gathering; we are always praying for them, but we would begin to pray with a greater intensity. Hear the many supplications which have gone up for some who are almost persuaded to be Christians, but not quite. Oh let them not tarry longer in that dangerous place, on the brink of faith, knowing but not obeying, hearing but not receiving the gospel. Oh decide many this morning! While your servant is preaching, the Lord bring sinners to himself.

Amen.

ā€œTherefore, you should pray like this: Our Father in heavenā€¦ā€ (Matthew 6:9)

If God be my Father, he loves me. And oh, how he loves me! When God is a Husband he is the best of husbands. Widows, somehow or other, are always well eared for. When God is a Friend, he is the best of friends, and sticketh closer than a brother; and when he is a Father he is the best of fathers.

Pastoring is Tortoise Work: A Lesson for the Young and Aspiring

Talking with a fellow pastor I know and trust, I recently asked a question. ā€œWhatā€™s one quality you believe is indispensable for an effective pastor?ā€ After a momentā€™s thought, the answer came: patience.

PREPARE FOR MINISTRY AT MIDWESTERN

What Jesus purchased is precious. We've made it our purpose. Midwestern Seminary exists for the church, and we serve the church by biblically educating God-called men and women to be and make disciples of Jesus Christ. If you're called to serve the church, train with us, for the Church.
