DAILY PRAYER (BY SPURGEON)
We begin with adoration. We worship from our hearts the three in one, the infinitely glorious Lord, the only living and true God. We adore the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob. We are not yet ascended to the place where pure spirits behold the face of God, but we shall soon be there, perhaps much sooner than we think, and we long to be there in spirit now, casting our crowns upon the glassy sea before the throne of the infinite majesty, and ascribing glory and honor, and power and praise, and dominion and might to him who sits on the throne, and unto the Lamb forever and ever.
Amen.
VERSE OF THE DAY (COMMENTARY BY SPURGEON)
âOh, Lord GOD! You yourself made the heavens and earth by your great power and with your outstretched arm. Nothing is too difficult for you!â (Jeremiah 32:17)
âNothing is too difficult for you!â Is not that a grand sentence? He who could make the heavens and the earth can do anything. Can anything be too difficult for the Almighty?
PRAY FOR THE NATIONS
This week, weâre praying for the Bunu of China.
The Bunu worship an ancient king, Pan Hu, who they believe created the world. They are robbing glory from the one true God who created the heavens and the earth.
Pray that the Bunu would hear the truth of God and worship him alone.
RECOMMENDED RESOURCE
Giving kids bold examples to follow.*
Our kids donât just need to KNOW God, they have to learn to SERVE him too. And just like any person, this doesnât happen automatically â we have to equip and train our kids. We have to shape their minds and help their hands.
Thatâs what I love about The Voice of the Martyrsâ storybook about the Apostle Thomas â it tells the story of Jesus through the lens of âDoubting Thomas,â celebrates the resurrection power that transformed this doubting disciple into a bold missionary, and encourages kids to share the truth of Jesus wherever they are. This is a deep book that will call kids to know and serve the risen Jesus.
LAST WORD FROM SPURGEON
âAs a gnat might seek to drink in the ocean, so a finite creature might seek to comprehend the eternal God.â â Charles Spurgeon
